Patients are accepted without emergency referral or appointment when their veterinarian is not available for emergency treatment.

Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center sees appointments by referral only, unless your regular veterinarian is unavailable or if you would like a second opinion. The patient will only be treated for the condition for which they were referred. No routine care or procedures, such as vaccinations, prophylactic heartworm testing, etc., will be performed.

Once referred, you will need to call and schedule an appointment. We recommend that your family veterinarian provide LVRC with a summary of your pet’s case, including history, physical examination, radiographs, medications and all test results. It is essential that we stay in close communication with your family veterinarian to ensure that the appropriate decisions regarding your pet’s health care will be made.

Fee Policy
An estimate will be provided during your pet’s examination. A deposit is required at the time of admission, and payment of the balance is due at discharge. We accept checks approved by Telecheck, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. We also offer financing through Wells Fargo to qualified applicants.
