Dear LVRC,
I am writing to say thank you to the members of the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center. My sweet angel Narc, a 5 year old Rottweiler, was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer in November of 2007. The prognosis was not good, as he was given 4-6 weeks to live without treatment. My local veterinarian recommended the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center

and particularly Dr. Elizabeth Kergosien, the oncologist at the center. I made an appointment immediately with Dr. Kergosien who discussed options and treatment plans with me. I am very pleased to say that both Dr. Kergosien and her assistant Jennifer have been very optimistic and caring in their treatment of Narc. He can be a difficult patient at times, due to his dislike of anyone at a veterinary office, but they have always been patient and understanding while giving him another six months and counting of good quality life. He is doing well on his present treatment plan and still enjoys a good game of tug of war. We recently were able to go on a short vacation in which Narc was able to play in a running river, which is his favorite pastime. I cannot express how thankful that I am to the staff at Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center and especially Dr. Kergosien and Jen for what the have done for both Narc and I. The last six months have been so special to me because I have treated every moment as precious, knowing that our time together is not forever. The staff has been so kind and now knows Narc and I by name. I know that they have many patients but Dr. Kergosien and Jen always spend whatever time is needed to ensure that I am satisfied with any decisions in regards to Narc’s treatment and are able to answer any questions I may have (which are sometimes numerous). Narc is a very special boy to me and Dr. Kergosien and Jen always take his well being into consideration when treating him. The Referral Center given me something I didn’t think I would have six months ago, which is quality time with the puppy I call my baby! I thank you all so very much for a gift that is greater than anything I could have imagined by making everyday, every hug and every lick from my sweet Narc count.
In Memory of “Narc”
